Watch a replay of the 2021 LHSAA Div. III Semi-Final: Newman Greenies vs Lafayette Christian Knights – Friday, November 26, 2021.
GAME PREVIEW
Last season, the fifth-seeded Knights ended #1 Newman’s dreams of playing for a state title with a 21-7 win in the semifinals in New Orleans.
This season the Knights come into the contest as the #1 seed, while the Greenies enter as the #5 seed.
Newman is of course led by football royalty. Junior quarterback Arch Manning is the country’s top prospect in the class of 2023 and this Friday he’s trying to make school and family history. No Greenie has ever won a state championship, which includes his father Cooper, and uncles Eli and Peyton.
LCA, on the other hand has enough state titles for the entire family. The Knights have won the last four straight state titles. They are the most dominant program in the state of Louisiana and are looking to be only the second school in state history to win five consecutive titles.
Check out the players to watch ahead of Newman vs. LCA.
