The Marage

There’s a lot happening here on the Ninth Island! We said goodbye to the iconic Mirage Hotel and Casino last month, and the construction began the following day, with fencing and plywood being put up around the property.

This will be an ongoing project for the next couple of years before we see the awaited guitar-shaped tower and Hard Rock opening its doors.

The Flamingo

The construction across the street at Flamingo continues as they’re in the process of three new establishments opening, including Havana, Pinky’s by Vanderpump and the second Strip location of Gordon Ramsey Burger, which is replacing the Margaritaville Casino and Bird Bar, currently under construction. The beloved Margaritaville closed after 20 years and is currently empty and untouched; however, we know this is prime real estate will be under construction soon. Rumor has it that this may be a new country-themed venue with ties to Country Star Garth Brooks.

Las Vegas Strip

The weather in August will be cooling off a bit from July; however, it’s still hot with average daily temperatures in the low 100’s and evening temps in the 80’s. Summer is Monsoon Season here in Vegas, which means rains and strong winds can happen, and with Vegas being a valley, flooding can happen quite quickly.

Bellagio Hotel and Casino
