Season Outlook
The Rebels finished 12-15 last season and 8-10 in Conference play. They are projected to finish seventh this season in the Mountain West by a poll by reporters who cover men’s basketball.
Senior guard Bryce Hamilton was selected to the 2021-22 Preseason All-Mountain West Team, and UNLV freshman guard Keshon Gilbert was named the conference’s Preseason Freshman of the Year.
Hamilton has appeared in 63 career games with 14 starts, averaging 10.3 ppg with four double-doubles. He has 27 games with 10 or more points and has scored 20 or more points 10 times. Hamilton’s career-high of 35 points ranks tied for 44th for most points in a game in UNLV basketball history.

Gilbert is a 247 Sports three-star recruit who played locally at Durango and finished his prep career at Vashon High School in St. Louis, MO. So far this preseason, Gilbert has impressed coaches with his on-ball defensive skills.
Overall, there will be a lot of new faces this season under first-year coach Kevin Kruger, as the Rebels welcome nine scholarship transfers. Kruger is a former UNLV student-athlete and assistant coach. It should be an exciting season, so join us as we go Runnin’ with the Rebels on YurView – November 15, December 15, and December 22.
