Fresh off an appearance on Over the Middle with Jeremy Crabtree, Jason Jewell of 247sports.com joined Chris Harris during halftime of Pinnacle’s thrilling 34-33 victory over Liberty to spotlight the Top 5 High School Football Recruits in Arizona.
1. Spencer Rattler – Pinnacle
Committed: Oklahoma
Is he a pocket passer? Yeah, but he can also move. He has a thousand yards rushing in his career. His completion percentage is over 70% this year. His touchdown to interception ratio is 19/3 right now. He’s easily the top prospect in the state.
2. Kelee Ringo – Saguaro
Uncommitted
3. Jake Smith – Notre Dame Prep
Committed: Texas
He kind of reminds me of Christian Kirk. Smith is a guy that every time he touches the ball he’s a threat to score. He plays receiver now.
I think he could actually be a very good defensive back. He’s committed to the Longhorns as a wide receiver and I think he’s a big impact type player.
4. Bijan Robinson – Salpointe Catholic
Uncommitted
5. Jack Miller – Chaparral
Committed: Ohio State
Buckeye QB commit Jack Miller has been a varsity standout since he was a freshman. He and RB Darvon Hubbard (also committed to Ohio State) are just fantastic players.
Besides the notable stars, Jewell highlighted five players that have been overlooked so far in the national recruiting trail.
1. Kieran Clark – Centennial
Kieran Clark is a corner at Centennial High School. He does have Division 1 offers. He has BYU. He has Nevada and even Wyoming. But I think this kid is a Power 5 type player. He’s big enough. He’s six feet tall. He’s documented very fast track times. I really like him.
2. Trevor Kauer – Campo Verde
3 & 4. Eliye and J.J. Hill – Marcos De Niza
Neither of them have scholarship offers. We know the game is won and lost in the trenches and these guys are fantastic football players.
5. Mario Padilla – Salpointe Catholic
One of the best all around football players in the state regardless of position. He plays running back, corner. I really, really like him a lot.
