Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 – Oklahoma Ford Game of the Week
Oklahoma high school football: Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish vs Guthrie Bluejays – Friday, October 29 at 7:00 pm CT.
Bishop McGuinness and Guthrie meet in a game that will likely settle second place in 5A-2 in our Oklahoma City Ford Game of the Week.
Although both teams have fallen to Carl Albert, both made the Titans work hard for their victory. It took a blocked kick in overtime to stop the Irish from prevailing and Guthrie was leading Carl Albert until the fourth quarter.
McGuinness has been the 5A state runner-up to the Titans four times. They would love to knock off Guthrie for another chance at Carl Albert and the title.
The highlight of this game is likely to be star running backs Isaiah Hammons and Michael Taffe going head to head.

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 – Oklahoma Ford Game of the Week
Oklahoma High School Football: Bishop Kelley Comets vs Coweta Tigers – Friday, October 29 at 7:00 pm CT.
With McAlester the likely champion of 5A-3, Bishop Kelley and Coweta are locked in a battle for second place. This is a rivalry that’s traditionally been settled by fewer than 2 touchdowns, making the result difficult to predict. The only thing we’re guaranteed here is a great game.
The 4-4 Comets are on a four-game winning streak, and they’re hoping that momentum will be enough to earn the W as well as second place in 5A-3.

With home-field advantage in the playoffs on the line, the Tigers are looking to shake off their only loss of the season two weeks ago. Senior QB Gage Hamm is 88 of 155 for 1392 yards on the season. His workhorse downfield is receiver Mason Ford, who has racked up 540 rushing yards this year.
Tailback Will Mason leads the Tigers on the ground, accounting for nearly half of the team’s rushing yards this season with 604. Junior Nate Long leads Coweta’s defense, amassing 52 total tackles in his 7-game season.
He’s not alone in holding the line, with guys like DE Carson Flanary putting up numbers like 12 total tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 – California GameTime
California high school football: Helix Highlanders vs Granite Hills Eagles – Friday, October 29 at 7:00 pm PT (9:00 pm CT).
Helix Charter High School seeks the Grossmont Hills league title when they make the trip to El Cajon to battle the Granite Hills High School on Friday, October 29 at 7:00 pm PT.
The Eagles were the de facto spring season champions, beating Helix for the first time since 2005 en route to posting a 5-1 overall record after the pandemic postponed the traditional 2020 fall football season in the CIF.
Granite Hills returned 12 starters from last year’s team with six on offense and six on defense returning this fall. Helix High, one of the winningest programs in the San Diego Section’s history, went just 2-4 during the 2021 spring campaign.
Helix High (5-3, 2-0) clinched at least a tie for the Grossmont Hills League with a 29-14 win over Grossmont this past weekend, their 25th consecutive win in the battle for the Campbell Musket.
The Scotties have had their share of impressive runners throughout the years, including Reggie Bush (yes, the former Heisman Trophy winner in 2005 at USC) along with Derrell Hutsona, Darrion Hancock, Nate Stinson, and Elelyon Noa.
This weekend’s Helix High vs. Granite Hills showdown on Yurview is presented by Team Mazda of El Cajon.

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 – Arizona GameTime Matchup
Arizona high school football: Desert Vista Thunder vs Mountain View Toros – Friday, October 29 at 7:00 pm MT (9:00 pm CT).
Two teams with major potential to work their way into 6A playoff contention meet Friday night on GameTime.
⭐ Preview: Desert Vista visits Mountain View in 6A matchup

Mountain View has been storming through the season, the only exception being a loss to Red Mountain two weeks ago. Sophomore QB Jack Germaine has been playing at a high level, and the Toros will need him to keep that going to rise as high as possible in the postseason.
Desert Vista has a 3-4 record that only tells part of their season’s story. With a new coach and a tough schedule, this team is better than their record.

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 – Kansas GameTime Matchup
Kansas high school football playoffs (round 1): Garden City Buffaloes vs Wichita East Blue Aces – Friday, October 29 at 7:00 pm CT.
6A West’s #9 seed Garden City takes on #8 seed Wichita East this week on a special playoffs edition of Gametime.
Garden City’s run game is solid and they spread the ball well. Topping the Buffs’ charts for yardage include RB Zack Keosengphat, who leads the team with 600 rushing yards and 8 TDs. Jr. RB Colin Kleysteuber has 377 yards rushing and 6 TDs, while WR Emmanuel Charite has 281 yards rushing and 4 TDs. They field a tough defense, and that should go a long way to keeping the Blue Aces in check.
East is riding a 4 game win streak after starting out the season 1-3. They also get home-field advantage after a dominant upset victory over Class 5A’s #1 ranked Bishop Carroll.
Aces quarterback DaeOnte’ Mitchell was one of the standout players in that win with 204 passing yards and two TDs.
Not surprisingly, Caquoy Patterson showed out with six catches, 68 yards, and one touchdown. On the ground, East relied on Justin Bell, who ended the night with 147 rushing yards and a touchdown of his own.

Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 @ 12 pm CT – Louisiana GameTime
Louisiana high school football: Archbishop Rummel Raiders vs John Curtis Patriots – Saturday, October 30 at 12:00 pm CT.
The #2 and #3 teams in 9-5A meet when Archbishop Rummel faces off against John Curtis on a special Saturday edition of GameTime.
With standings reconfigured, Rummel and John Curtis both have just one district loss. That leaves the possibility that the winner of this game could make the playoffs.
The Raiders run a workmanlike offense, keeping to the ground and passing conservatively. Junior Quarterback Casey Avrard has a host of receivers but relies on Cameron Francioni and Nicholas Howard primarily. Running back Jaidyn Martin leads the team in rushing yards and will be key to Rummel getting the ball down the field.
Expect the Patriots’ QB to use his legs just as much as his arm. Senior QB Buddy Taylor has nearly as many rushing yards to his credit this season as passing yards. The team’s leader in rushing yards is Patrick Lebranch III with 540 yards over 5 games.
