It’s a Friday night high school football semifinal in Class 3A on Yurview, as the #10 seed Jennings Bulldogs face the #6 seed West Feliciana Saints. Jennings has won seven straight games, while West Feliciana has won nine straight and are looking to advance to the championship after falling short in the semifinals the last three seasons. The game can be seen on Yurview Louisiana for customers of Cox Communications at 6:30pm CT on December 1st and will also be streaming live at Yurview.com.
How They Got Here
With three losses combined, both teams have put themselves in position for a championship berth, especially with a number of upsets in Class 3A. After an opening round win over Bogalusa, Jennings beat #7 Church Point 28-7 to advance to the quarterfinals. The Bulldogs caught a break when #2 Iowa was knocked off by #18 Crowley, who Jennings beat 14-0 last week.
Jennings heads to the semis after a dominant defensive performance led by our Sports Person of the Week, Davian Madden.

Darrian Achane also scored a pair of touchdowns in the 14-0 win.

West Feliciana also missed out on the top seed on their side of the bracket, and they’ve been dominant so far in the playoffs. #3 Jena was knocked off by #30 Westlake in the opening round, ensuring the Saints that they’d be the top remaining seed until the finals. West Feliciana dropped North Webster and Berwick in the first two rounds, respectively, before demolishing #14 Northwest in the quarterfinals.

West Feliciana has outscored their opponents 122-32 in their three playoff games so far.
The Great Debate
A great offense vs great defense – which would you rather have? It’s an interesting proposition with West Feliciana’s high-powered option offense going against a Jennings defense that has only allowed more than two scores once all season. They’ll be hard-pressed to replicate the Saints’ team speed in practice though, making it tough to prepare. It’s one thing to have your assignments squared away, it’s another when your assignment is an All-State track star turned quarterback who is pulling the ball down and blazing down the sideline or tossing a screen to another speedster with the nickname of “Smoke”.
UHigh looked like it was going to have this screen extremely well contained. Instead Davon “Smoke” Harris is free down the sideline. #HeGone pic.twitter.com/L3ZsFtIqsP

Players to Watch
QB/S Derek Turner – West Feliciana
One of the best athletes in Louisiana, he is the engine that makes West Feliciana’s offense go. Defensively, he can break on the ball quickly, as his four interceptions prove.
DB/RB Davian Madden – Jennings
He’s shifty and strong, especially when he gets near that goal-line.
DB/RB Derius Davis – West Feliciana
The TCU commit is certainly hungry to advance to the Superdome.
All-State & All-District don’t mean nun 🤷🏽♂️ it’s not gone win you a state championship

DL Keenan Landry – Jennings
Just a freshman, he’s already a received an offer from LSU, giving you some insight to the talent he possesses.
Proud to receive my first offer from LSU💜💛🐅 pic.twitter.com/qvaPI5IEz3

RB Davon Harris – West Feliciana
The man with the nickname “Smoke,” he can break one with the slightest sliver of daylight.
