Union and Broken Arrow renewed their neighborhood rivalry Friday night at Memorial Stadium in Broken Arrow.
It was meant to be a fast-and-furious contest, but the final score was tallied in the first half of this game as offensive gains were few and hard-won and for both teams.
Offensive Notables
Broken Arrow quarterback Jake Raines connected with RJ Spears-Jennings over the middle. Spears-Jennings broke to the outside and sped 76 yards down the sideline to the end zone.

Defense Shows Out
With so many stops and turnovers, it was obviously the defense’s time to shine. In the second half, neither team could put together a complete drive. Each team’s star running backs were neutralized in an effort that culminated in holding Union’s AJ Green to 13 yards in the second half, according to Mike Brown of the Tulsa World.

There were plenty of turnovers as the teams combined for six on the night in the eventual 14-7 Broken Arrow win over Union.
Darryan Moss got it done for the Tigers when it mattered, making a big stop. Two fumble recoveries by Dakota Tomlinson, and an interception by Corey Williams rounded out Broken Arrow’s defensive effort.
Broken Arrow moves to 2-0, while Union falls to 0-2.
