The Deer Creek Antlers and the Southmoore SaberCats met in non-district play Thursday night at Moore Schools Stadium in Moore.
It was a full team effort for the Antlers, with the offensive line giving Junior Quarterback Brett Pense plenty of time to throw. The Oklahoman’s James Jackson called it a “true breakout game” for Pense. Deer Creek’s offensive prowess will come as no surprise to readers familiar with their four-star OT Jake Sexton. The 6′ 6″, 308 lb Junior has already earned an impressive list of offers, although most of the experts predict he’ll opt to stay home and attend OU.
It has been a very busy offseason of new offers for Rivals250 OT Jacob Sexton, who added #Alabama, #Michigan and #Texas overtures to the mix, among others

Deer Creek got great production out of Preseason All State dual-threat Logan Ward, who had two touchdown receptions, including a 75-yarder in the third quarter. He also kicked a 41-yard field goal and extra points for the Antlers. At the end of the night, Ward had tallied 5 total catches for 133 yards. With all that going for them, Deer Creek had a 30-3 lead built up by midway through the fourth quarter, when the tide could have shifted for the SaberCats.

Southmoore’s offense came to life late in the fourth and came up with two touchdowns by running back Corey Durham, including a 30 yarder with 4:00 minutes left to make the score 30 to 17. With sixteen seconds to go, SaberCat quarterback Noah Peters hit Reece Moffett to pull Southmoore within six at 24. After recovering an onside kick, a Southmoore trick play resulted in a heartbreaking turnover. Deer Creek defeats Southmoore 30 to 24.
