The Sand Springs Sandites and the Booker T. Washington Hornets met in 6A-II District 2 play Friday night at S.E. Williams Stadium in Tulsa.
The Hornets scored first. Deon McKinney, Jr. running out of the wildcat scored on a 7 yard play to put the Hornets up 7-0 late in the first quarter. In the second quarter, BTW steadily pulled away. Less than a minute into the second Hornet quarterback Lathan Boone found Demitrius Prudom over the middle. He sped into the endzone on a 50 yard scoring play.

A couple of plays later, it was Deon McKinney again, this time for 29 yards to make the score 21-0. At the three minute mark Amondre Tiger sacked Pennington. The ball spilled out and Demitrius Prudom scooped it up and scampered 35 yards for a 28 to nothing lead.

Just before halftime, Lathan Boone found Jordan Drew on a beautiful throw. It was a 36 yard touchdown play. At the half Booker T. Washington led Sand Springs 35-0.
In the second half BTW got a 16 yard touchdown reception from Jalen Teague and an 8 yard touchdown run from freshman Isaac Covington.
BTW defeats Sand Springs 49 to 0.
