The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles definitely has a funny video game PSA pertaining to speeding, but when it comes to driving a car- it is anything BUT a game.
Friend of the show John Saunders from the DMV paid Living 757 a virtual visit to explain the dangers of speeding in a motor vehicle.
The bottom line? You speed, you lose.
John says that going above the speed limit even a little bit is very dangerous!
Speeding is an aggressive driving behavior, that is both illegal and dangerous. Whether you are going two miles per hour over the speed limit, or ten miles per hour over the limit- speeding is speeding!
When you speed, you put yourself, your loved ones, and everyone else on the road in danger.
In the last year in the state of Virginia alone, there were 25,000 speed-related car crashes.
Those crashes lead to the death of 459 people, which accounts for almost half of all fatalities on the road.
Speeding also hurts our pockets! When you speed, you use more fuel. You also run the risk of paying for a ticket, fines, and court fees if you get caught.
