Summer time means more vacations, which means more people are on our roadways trying to get from point A to point B! More travel means more accidents.
Negligence while traveling can land you on the wrong side of the law, so Attorney Katey Green from Huffman & Huffman visited the studio to give Quincy and Patricia some tips to keep them safe (and law abiding!).
Road trips are prevalent during the warmer months. So before you hit the road- here are some tips to make for a safer and more enjoyable journey:
- Check your fluid levels
- Check the tread on your tires
- Make sure you have a first aid kit on hand for all trips in your car
- Keep a road side safety kit somewhere in the car at all times during travel!
When traveling with children, it is even more important that we do our due diligence when it comes to their safety.
Sometimes we have a tendency to pass down carseats when we have multiple kids. Hand-me-downs are totally fine, as long as you have checked the carseat’s expiration date and it is still all clear!
Also make sure your child fits the height and weight requirements for whichever carseat they are in.
For help installing carseats to ensure safe travel, visit your local fire department and talk to the professionals!
