BayPort Credit Union has a long history of being there for their members, by way of helping fund their educations. In 2021 they launched The BayPort Foundation, which is the philanthropic branch of the credit union. CEO and President Jim Mears joined Ashley and Quincy to tell them more about the foundation.
The BayPort Foundation focuses on four main efforts:
- Educational scholarships
- Financial literacy
- Promoting family health & wellness
- Providing assistance in times of hardship and emergencies
The BayPort Foundation had its’ inaugural golf tournament this year, where they were able to raise over $110,000 towards scholarships for members and their families.
Scholarships through the foundation are available to members and their families. They are available to high school students, college students and even working adults!
This year they awarded over scholarships to 18 high school students, and a mix of 18 college students and working adults! BayPort is proud of the recipients and all of their hard work.
