It’s no secret that when the temperature rises, so do the amount of people taking vacations- and therefore, there are more people on the road. More people on the road means more accidents!
But have no fear, friend of the show John Saunders from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles stopped by virtually to give us some tips on how to stay safe while driving or riding in cars on our roadways this Summer.
He says that the number one thing we can do to stay safe while in a moving vehicle, is wearing your seatbelt!
The DMV is taking part in the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign- which is an effort to encourage motorists and their passengers to buckle up.
During these heavier travel times, officers will be operating on a mission to make sure people know the laws when it comes to seatbelts in the Comminwealth of Virginia.
John emphasizes that any driver that is ready to get moving- makes sure that everyone in the car has their seatbelt fastened correctly.
Make sure you wear your seatbelt to stay safe in the car all summer long!
