At Living 757, there are two things that we are wildly passionate about. Our military and veteran populations, and our furry friends!
On this special segment of Living 757 we have TWO guests- a veteran named Chris Cappa, and a second veteran who also happens to be a military dog named Miki.
Chris has loved dogs his whole life, and knew that when he joined the military he wanted to work with the canines!
Miki met Chris when he was only 10 months old and entered the Navy’s dog program- and their relationship has been history ever since.
Miki is now retired from the military after seven years in service.
The dogs like Miki in his program work alongside the Navy’s highly trained SEAL teams. Working dogs also go through a rigorous training program just like their human counterparts do.
The dogs travel, jump out of helicopters, brave the elements, and they are the first line of defense during special missions with their SEAL partners.
Retirement for working dogs is easy and fun. Exercise, family time, and PLAY!
