American Mechanical has been servicing the Hampton Roads area since 1994. Over that time, they have learned a thing or two about keeping cool when the temperatures are rising outside!
General Manager John Gordon joined Quincy in the Living 757 studio to explain some of the things he has learned along the way!
Tips to Maintaining Your HVAC System
The first tip that he has is as a homeowner- make sure that you have a maintenance plan on your equipment. Maintaining your equipment helps to ensure that it is running smoothly and also that it’s ready to transition from season to season.
Also make sure you are regularly changing your filters. If you run your HVAC system with dirty filters, it puts unnecessary strain on the system. This can lead to both system malfunctions and higher power bills!
Mini-Splits
Quincy comments that we must have put the air on full blast in the studio in honor of John’s visit, but John explains that the air is coming from the equipment he brought! The two units are called mini-splits, and they help to cool the areas in your home that might not keep up with the rest of the house. An example of this would be the room above the garage- that always seems warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter!
American Mechanical doesn’t just handle HVAC- they also handle plumbing and electric! Be sure to watch the full video to learn more about all of their services.
