It’s just a short drive up interstate 64, but when you get to Richmond it can feel like you’re somewhere far from the 757. From beautiful nature scenes and tubing, to hikes, to shopping and drool-worthy food, Virginia’s state capital really does have something for everyone!!
If you are someone who likes to get your learn on, Richmond will not disappoint. They have museums GALORE, and one of them is sure to tickle your tastebuds.
- There is the Virginia museum of fine arts for art buffs,
- the American civil war museum for history buffs,
- the Science museum of Virginia for all of our future astronauts and biologists,
- and then the Children’s museum of Richmond for the young at heart.
And after.a long day of museum browsing, who wouldn’t want to have a locally brewed cold one at one of the many local Breweries?
Hardywood Park Craft Brewery – Richmond
The veil brewing company
Stone brewing tap room- beautiful NATURAL landscape, and instagram worthy backdrops
Strangeways brewing – if you’re looking for a small mom and pop brewery, this one is for you!
And last but not least, if museums or beer aren’t your thing, Richmond also has a plethora of Tourist Attractions!
-My personal favorite is available for everyone’s viewing pleasure from late July to late August every year, the Washington Football Team Training Camp!!!!
-And speaking of sporting events, the Richmond Raceway is always a fan favorite for tailgating and fast cars too.
-If you are still looking for adrenaline after a day at the races, head on over to King’s Dominion and take on THE INTIMIDATOR. Yes, I had to say that in a scary voice because it’s scary!! The first drop is over 300 feet at an EIGHTY FIVE DEGREE ANGLE!
-Round out your trip with a visit to the Metro Richmond Zoo, where you can hand feed giraffes or visit their newest resident, a baby pygmy hippopotamus!
But of course, like we always say, Safety First!
Before you hop in your car – make sure it is road ready. Our friends at AAA Car Care Center are always ready to help you get safely on the road and off to your new adventure.
Happy travels!
