Barry and Karen join us from Rosie’s Gaming Emporium at Colonial Downs. First, Barry is joined by Sarah Bryant, the Human Resources Manager. She gives us the down low on horse racing at Colonial Downs!
Horse racing takes place at Colonial Downs between July and late August. They had close to 1,000 thoroughbred horses pass through the gates last season. The races take place on both their turf, and their dirt track- which at a mile and a half long, is the longest in North America!
Sarah tells Barry that the perfect evening there would include getting to know the gaming machines on the first floor, grabbing a couple drinks, and then having a bite to eat at Rosie’s Diner.
Speaking of food, Karen talks to David Jones, the chef at Rosie’s Diner. David explains the food at Rosie’s is made from all fresh ingredients- and then tells us about a few of their signature and seasonal dishes!
After you’ve had a bite, venture over to the Historical Horse Racing (or HHR) machines. Johhny Fried explains to us how the machines work, and the differences between the newer and older machines! He said that big jackpots (over 25,000) happen every week to two weeks! The biggest payout he has seen was around $185,000!!
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or you’ve never played the games before, head out to Rosie’s and win a lot of money!
