Feel safe while getting your style on! The folks at Making Waves Hair Salon dropped by to chat with us about their services and how they are keeping their clients safe during the pandemic.
What does your business/organization do?
Our salon is focused on womens’ and mens’ hair care services including haircuts, styling, hair color enhancements and artistry.
What sets your company/organization apart from others?
Making Waves Hair Salon has developed a partnership with the J Beverly Hills brand and our team is in the process of achieving their brand certification which puts us on track to become one of their concept salons. We chose this line because of their environmentally conscious efforts and the amazing new technology that goes into their hair care products and hair color line. It’s all botanically infused and contains essential oils that we, as stylists, can feel safe using daily and also allows us to service our clients with minimal damage and beautiful shine in their hair.
Where are you located?
We are located at the intersection of Holland Road and South Plaza Trail in the HollandPlaza Shopping Center.
Can you share a brief history of your company/organization with us?
My salon is coming up on our 1 year anniversary. As you can imagine the additional pandemic challenges have made a first year in business especially challenging. But I am determined to do everything I can to keep my business running by serving our clients with a smile, and confidence in the safety at the salon, and of course our work!
What is your slogan and why is it your slogan?
“We are Making Waves”is how we answer the phone. It’s a repeated verbal affirmation that we state to remind us of the vision and to let our clients know what we’re about. Yes, we can make waves in your hair, but we also make waves to uplift our clients’ mood, and send them out feeling better than when they came in.
What drives you to succeed?
My vision for the entire team at the salon has always been more than hair service, it includes community involvement, supporting other small businesses, participation and leadership within women’s groups–while continuing to provide beauty services that up lift our clients to feel good and smile at their reflection in the mirror. Keeping my vision in my mind and heart is what has helped keep me motivated through this year of challenges along with continued encouragement from my business peers, my stylist team and our clients.
