The big 6A, East Valley Region match-up between Red Mountain and Skyline High School ended with the Mountain Lions clinching the region in a 14-0 win. To view full game, go HERE.
Game Highlights
The Mountain Lions wasted no time putting points up on the board! Senior WR Gerald Wilbon slipped past the Coyote defense scoring a long touch down from Senior QB Lance Lawson. Lawson connected to Wilbon yet again down field for another TD in the first quarter. Red Mountain went for a 2 point attempt through Lawson and were successful, bringing their lead up 14-0.
Throughout the remainder of the game, both Skyline and Red Mountain’s defensive squads would hold their opponent scoreless. Penalties, Interceptions and fumbles kept the possessions switching, but Red Mountain remained on top until the end.
Player of the Game
The Takis Hot Player of the Game Award goes to the entire Red Mountain Defense. They came up with an interception, 2 fumble recoveries, and caused a shutout for the Coyotes.
