The Knights of Higley High School traveled to take on the stacked Sabercats of Saguaro High, who lived up to their dominating reputation. Saguaro ended up taking the win, with a final score of 42 to 14.
Saguaro wasted little time getting down the field. QB Max Massingale found Zach Wilson who streamed passed the line to start off what would be a fantastic, running game for him.
Higley was too pumped up to sit back out of the gate. Knights QB Spencer Brasch took matters into his own hands and powered past the Sabercat line, bringing their score up to 6.
But, before Higley could take a breath, Saguaro streamed across the field to start long scoring streak and pull away for good.
Shortly after some stiff defensive play, Saguaro’s La’Ray Lucas slipped around the defense for another SHS touchdown.
Coming out of halftime the 2nd half, Saguaro marched down the field two more times and the outcome of the game was never in doubt.
But, before the night was over, Higley was able to punch one final touchdown in followed by a 2 point conversion.
