Pete Maravich Assembly Center on the campus of LSU was the site for this year’s 10th Annual Louisiana House of Representatives vs Louisiana Senate HoopLA Basketball Game. This yearly tradition hosted by the New Orleans Pelicans is a fan favorite in Baton Rouge.
It’s more than just a fun event and bragging rights, one lucky legislator gets a basketball court refurbished or built by the Pelicans in their district.
At the end of the game, each legislator submits their name into a hat, and if their name is drawn, they win the basketball court for their district. This year’s winner was John Bagneris – House of Representatives, District 100. Congrats to John and his district. We look forward to seeing the finished project.
