Las Vegas Strip

Spring has sprung here on the Ninth Island of Las Vegas, and honestly, it feels like summer. While we typically ease our way into the hot summer temps in March and April, enjoying more comfortable weather, 2026 has been setting records when it comes to daily highs. Do expect a significant change in temperature from day to night, as temps can be in the 80’s and 90’s in the day and still drop down into the 50’s. If you’re planning a trip here this month, be sure to pack sunscreen, ChapStick, allergy medication (if needed), and a light jacket or sweater. Also, be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

All of the seasonal pools are open, yet may have shorter hours (typically 9am-5pm). A Vegas pool day is a fun way to enjoy the beautiful temps; however, do your research on the pools to be sure that you are getting the experience that you’re looking for. And heads up, drink prices at the pools continue to be very expensive, even for Vegas.

If you’re looking to spend some time outdoors but want to avoid the pool, there are several outdoor dining patios on the Strip and Downtown. There are also great outdoor hotspots like the Downtown Container Park in the Fremont East District, and on the Strip there’s the LINQ Promenade between the LINQ Hotel and Casino and the Flamingo, as well as The Park, which is located just outside of New York New York, across from Park MGM. This area has plenty of tables, shade, and is a relaxing place to enjoy fresh air.

Looking to get fresh air off of the Strip? There are several great outdoor attractions; however, you certainly want to get an early start to avoid the extreme heat. There are several quick road trips for the hikers, as well as those who prefer seeing the sights from an air-conditioned vehicle. Some of our favorites include visits to Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire, Seven Magic Mountains, Nelson Ghost Town, Mount Charleston, and Death Valley.

Springs Preserve is just minutes from Fremont Street, although you would never guess it once you set foot onto the property. There you’ll find a botanical garden and trails, as well as fun cultural and historical experiences with the two on-site museums and the replicated old Vegas town, Boom Town 1905. This is a fun-for-all-ages attraction. Visit www.springspreserve.org for more information.

The construction projects along the Las Vegas Strip continue, although quite a bit of progress has been made. The guitar-shaped tower at Hard Rock (formerly Mirage) is coming along, and they have even begun testing the lighting. Of course, they have a long way to go and do not expect to be open until the end of 2027.

The new Omnia Day Club pool complex at Caesar’s Palace has progressed, with a tentative opening date of summer 2026. Across the street, Flamingo has made quite a bit of progress on its lobby renovation, although the lobby bar has not yet opened. Construction continues on Luke Comb’s Category 10, which will be a 3-story, 34,000 square foot country bar (yes, a third country bar on the Strip). This replaced the former Margaritaville located at the beginning of the LINQ Promenade. This is set to open in Fall 2026.

Next door, The Cromwell is getting ready to transition over to The Vanderpump, and rooms were no longer available for occupancy after March 22nd. There has not been an announced timeline for the renovation of the rooms.

Of course, the progress continues on the ballpark for the Las Vegas Athletics. While the A’s have actually played a few games here in Vegas at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin, they won’t be playing at their ballpark until the 2028 season. The $2 billion, 33,000-seat ballpark reportedly remains on budget and on time, and fans can see the progress online. This ballpark will be located on Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana, where the former Tropicana Hotel and Casino used to be.
