Congratulations to the 2018 Cox Inspirational Student Heroes for Escambia County, Florida. On Wednesday, May 9th, these 51 students inspired over 450 people with laughter and tears during the Cox Communications annual awards celebration in Pensacola.
Cox recognized these amazing students from Escambia County who have overcome extreme challenges in life to serve as an inspiration to their teachers, administrators, and fellow students.
The Cox Inspirational Student Hero Awards program began 25 years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana. The program has spread to other Cox markets in the Southeast Region. To date, Cox has recognized more than 4,000 students from Lafayette, Louisiana, to Gainesville, Florida.
The students were chosen by a committee of leaders at their school. During the event, Cox presented the students with an engraved medal and certificates of honor from Cox, Congressman Matt Gaetz, and State Senator Doug Broxson.
This Cox Inspirational Heroes award signifies that anyone can overcome almost any challenge in life. Once again, congratulations to this year’s Cox student heroes in Escambia County and thanks for being truly inspirational.
