“It’s nice to have a game like this,” Notre Dame Prep head coach George Prelock said. “We’re looking forward to it. This is something we’ve always wanted to do is start playing Brophy on a consistent basis. Hopefully this is game two of many more to come.”
Notre Dame Prep is coming off a bye week, while Brophy is coming off a tough 37 to 12 loss to Basha last week.

— Elijah "EJ" Warner (@elijah13warner) September 14, 2021
After missing out on his junior season due to a leg injury, Warner has come out this season and had a solid start in his senior campaign.
The quarterback has 726 passing yards, nine touchdowns through three games.
On September 7, he was named the Arizona Cardinals Player of the Week for his performance against St. Mary’s.
Warner had nearly 300 passing yards, and five touchdowns in Brophy’s 49-0 win.
“He comes as advertised,” Brophy head coach Jason Jewell said. “He throws the football quick, makes smart decisions for the most part. He knows the offense and the whole thing runs around him. The team goes where EJ takes us.”
Warner is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback and former Arizona Cardinal Kurt Warner. He has offers from Ball State, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, Marshall and Presbyterian.
Sr. LB/WR Brock Narveson, 5’10” 170 – Notre Dame Prep
Narveson is one of several players on the Saints roster that plays on both sides of the ball.
Last season, Narveson decided not to play football. He ended up playing soccer for NDP where he was a standout at goalie, then approached Prelock in spring ball interested in returning to the gridiron.
In these first two games of 2021 Narveson has 109 yards receiving, two touchdowns and has 19 tackles, 14 solo including 3.5 tackles for loss.
“He’s done a great job on both sides of the ball, making an impact,” Prelock said. “He’s versatile. You can move him all over the field both on offense and on defense. That’s what makes him such a special player.”
Sr. WR Taj Hughes, 5’9” 195 – Brophy
Through three games this season with the Broncos, Hughes has 244 receiving yards and two touchdowns as well as 43 rushing yards.
Hughes tied the Brophy school record for catches in a game against Mountain Pointe in the Broncos second game of the season with 14.

“I love Taj’s versatility,” Jewell said. “He plays tailback, he plays receiver, he’s our punt returner, he’s a backup safety. He can do just about anything.”
Hughes has offers from Presbyterian and South Dakota School of Mines.
Sr. WR/P Gavin Smith, 5’11” 180 – Notre Dame Prep
Smith has 13 catches for 170 yards and one touchdown this season. He has seven punts averaging 43.1 yards per punt.
