Krysten suffered spinal injuries when the car she was riding in rolled over. Doctors are hopeful that she will eventually walk again, and a GoFundMe has been set up to help her family with the associated costs.
In 2017, Krysten was one of the faces of the Play for Life campaign, which highlighted the positive impact of sports on student athletes and the larger community. Asked what she’d learned from her high school sports career, Krysten reflected on a lesson from her dad, Jeremy.
“The most important thing I learned from him is to not give up,” Krysten said. “Just because some things might be challenging doesn’t mean to give up. There is always a way to overcome any problem.”
