At the Arizona Museum of Natural History, Kathy Eastman talks about DinoZone and describes it as the newest and most exciting exhibit for kids and adults. She says it has all sorts of slides and tunnels and kids can get up on the back of a Triceratops.
There is also a green screen and an interactive exhibit with children’s toys. Eastman says there is something for everyone; the cells from the old Maricopa County jail can be explored and kids can pan for gold outside on the shady side of the building. She doesn’t tell if it is real gold or fool’s gold. Outside in the gold panning area, the Paleo Dig Pit is a place for kids to uncover dinosaur fossils.
The museum is open Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm, Saturday 11am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm. It is located in downtown Mesa on Main Street and parking is free.
