The Notre Dame Pioneers came into tonight’s match up with the Catholic of New Iberia Panthers hungry to redeem themselves form last year’s Division 3 state title loss, which happen to be against the Panthers. It didn’t take Notre Dame long to begin their quest. The very first play from scrimmage tail back Noah Bourgeois took it to the house with a 72-yard TD run. But he wouldn’t stop there, Noah ended the night with 2 more scores, a 1-yard run and a 34-yard run, taking the honor of player of the game.
Ben Broussard also got into the mix, he had 2 scores himself a 19-yard TD and a 21-yard TD. The Pios put up 42 points in the first half and took complete control of the game. They had 317 rushing yards in the first half alone, along with 16 first downs and they were 6 out of 6 on third down conversions.
Notre Dame flexed its muscle tonght and showed why they have high hopes of reaching the state title game once again.
