From the 2019 Jamboree, August 30, 2019 as Acadiana and Teurlins Catholic do battle.
In the first game of the night, the Notre Dame Pioneers, hosted a new comer to the LHSAA in the Southside Sharks. The Sharks, who are led by Coach Joshua Fontenot, played in their first varsity game recognized by the LHSAA. The team, who prior to Friday’s game, had only participated in five exhibition games last season.
In their opening drive of the game, Junior Quarterback Dillon Monette lead the Sharks on an 80-yard drive that culminated with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jack Pruitt to take a 7-0 lead. The Pioneers responded two minutes later with a 29-yard touchdown pass from Parker Seilhan to Jack Faulk.
In typical Notre Dame fashion, a strong rushing attack and good clock management proved to be the difference maker in the game. Senior Running Back, CJ Thibodeaux, led the attack with 120 rushing yards on the night, helping Notre Dame seal the victory 21-14.
