Zeon Chriss accounted for five touchdowns as visiting Madison Prep shut out district rival University Lab 33-0. Madison Prep improves to 7-1. University Lab falls to 5-3.
The Madison Prep defense rose to the occasion against a formidable foe. Madison Prep held University Lab to 128 yards and forced two turnovers.
“Defense wins championships,” Madison Prep coach Landry Williams said. “The guys came out and they were real stubborn. They didn’t give up much at all. We kept them out the end zone. We didn’t make many mistakes at all on defense tonight.”

Madison Prep entered the contest motivated and inspired.
“The guys came in and they were locked in from the start,” Williams said. “We were locked in all week because we know what this game meant for our program.”
Joel Williams recorded two touchdown receptions. Landry Williams praised the play of his anchors.
“Zeon was Zeon tonight. Major [Burns] and Joel stepped up big as always. Those are our leaders,” Williams said. “We put a lot on those guys shoulders and they accept it.”
Madison Prep is taking it one game at a time yet this is a major statement as they strive for a state championship.
“It’s on to the next one but this is a big win for our program indeed,” Williams said.
