LSU football fans have been aware of Southern Lab running back Tyrion Davis for a long time now. And it’s no wonder with measurables of 6’1″, 230 pounds and 4.45 speed in the 40.
University Lab was aware of Davis too but, despite defeating Southern Lab 42-14 on Friday night, you can only hold a talent like Davis down for so long.
He had several impressive plays on the night showcasing his power and speed, but this one play gave LSU fans a glimpse of why many believe he’ll challenge for a starting job as a freshman in Baton Rouge next season.
Davis showcases all of his skills in one play, including great hands with that one-handed catch.
As a junior, Davis rushed for 1,965 yards and 27 touchdowns in nine games. He entered this season as the #1 rated RB in Louisiana and had an outstanding summer, raising expectations for his senior season.
Despite overtures from other major programs, it looks like he’s firm in his commitment to Ed Orgeron and company.
While U-High was clearly too much for Southern Lab, the future Tiger will continue to put up big numbers the rest of this season and create excitement to find out what his true potential is on the collegiate level.
