Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 – Oklahoma Ford Game of the Week
Oklahoma high school football: Sand Springs Sandites vs Bixby Spartans – Thursday, October 14 at 7:00 pm CT.
After last week’s win over No.2 Choctaw (70-7), Bixby’s quest for the perfect season seems to be on an unstoppable roll. In the way: matchups with Sand Springs and Booker T. Washington.
As far as quarterbacks go, the Spartans and the Sandites are pretty evenly matched. The Sandites’ Ty Pennington has passed for 1,437 yards this season at 95 of 147. Christian Burke of Bixby has passed for 1,409 yards and is 97 of 145.
However, the Spartans have a secret weapon in Connor Kirby. He can be switched out for Burke when Bixby needs a running QB. Kirby has already racked up 56 rushes, 355 yards, and 10 TDs on the season.
If the Sandites can secure a victory, it might create a four-way tie at the top of the district leader board.

Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 – Oklahoma Ford Game of the Week
Oklahoma High School Football: Del City Eagles vs Putnam City North Panthers – Thursday, October 14 at 7:00 pm CT.
On Thursday’s Ford Game of the Week, Del City (5-1) takes on Putnam City North (3-3) in a 6A-II District 1 matchup.

The Eagles are currently on a 5-game winning streak. Their only loss came from powerhouse Booker T. Washington in the season opener, and they’ve been outscoring their opponents 198-54 since. Del City’s offense is led by Sr. QB Virgil Yates, who may not be the strongest passer, but he’s hard to stop when he runs (did we mention he’s also a linebacker?).
But don’t count the Panthers out – they’re a much better team than their record indicates, and they’ll be looking for their first home win of the season. A win against the district leader would be a very interesting standings shake-up.

Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 – Arizona GameTime
Arizona high school football: Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (CA) vs Saguaro Sabercats – Friday, October 15 at 7:00 pm MT (9:00 pm CT).
A high-powered matchup comes to GameTime Friday night as Sierra Canyon comes to Arizona to face off against Saguaro.
⭐ Preview: Nationally ranked Sierra Canyon visits Arizona to take on Saguaro
Sierra Canyon School is the #6 team in the state of California. They’re unmatched for strength of schedule, and they’ll arrive well-armed with a laundry list of talent on both sides of the ball. They’re growing a dual-threat in sophomore QB Alonzo Contreras. He’s already had interest from UNLV.
Also a sophomore, Terrell Cooks Jr. has 53 carries for 355 yards on the season. He’s been offered by Arizona, ASU, FSU, Georgia, and Michigan. And this is only a sample of the weapons this California school can bring to bear.

But Saguaro Sabercat Football has some stopping power. Linebacker Tristan Monday will play both sides of the ball for the Sabercats this year. He’s is rated as the #8 player in the state by 247Sports and is committed to the University of Arizona.
On the other side of the ball, offensive lineman Parker Brailsford is rated by 247Sports as the #7 player in Arizona and is committed to the University of Washington.

Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 – Omaha GameTime
Omaha, Nebraska high school football: Creighton Prep Junior Jays vs Papillion La Vista South Titans – Friday, October 15 at 7:00 pm CT.
Friday’s GameTime features a favored Creighton Preparatory School squad against Papillion La Vista South High School’s up-and-coming program.
The Titans have faced an uneven schedule this season, and it shows in uneven 3-4 results. Losses to powerhouses Westside, Gretna, and Burke are expected in a squad that is still largely rebuilding. But games like the fourth quarter come-from-behind rally against Lincoln East show that you can’t count Papio South out.
The 5-2 Junior Jays reached the quarterfinals in the playoffs last year. Prep is still big and physical on both lines, and 6-5, 265-lb Sam Sledge is quickly gaining traction in recruiting circles. Jack Stessman returns in the backfield to head up what should be a grinding, clock-chewing offensive unit.

Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 – Kansas GameTime Matchup
Kansas high school football: Maize Eagles vs Derby Panthers – Friday, October 15 at 7:00 pm CT.
Friday night on GameTime, 5-1 Maize High School will be riding high coming off their win over rival Maize South. But they’ll have to get past 5-0 Derby High School to keep their streak rolling.
Maize will be hoping for a repeat of last year’s 36-35 last-minute victory over Derby. It was the Eagles’ first victory over the Panthers since 2014.
Derby’s offense is putting up huge numbers – 59 points per game – and twice scoring over 70 points in a game. Maize’s offense is averaging only 38 PPG. The saving grace will be both teams’ defenses, which only give up an average of 17-17.5 points per game.
Maize leaders: QB Avery Johnson can beat you throwing and running. Last week against unbeaten rival Maize South, Johnson rushed 9 times for 139 yards and 3 TDs. He also threw for 133 yards and 1 TD. RB Daeshaun Carter had his best game of the season as well with 182 yards rushing and 3 TD’s.
Derby leaders: The defense has been a force all season, forcing 16 turnovers. Last week in a 70-21 thrashing of Campus, Junior RB Dylan Edwards led the rushing attack with three touchdowns, including an 80-yard touchdown run to start the third quarter.
Sophomore running back Derek Hubbard also scored on an 80 yard TD run. SR QB Mercer Thatcher threw for two touchdowns, connecting with his brother, senior TE Drake Thatcher and senior WR Cayden Brownand. JR QB Brock Zerger added a 54-yard touchdown run.
