DUNHAM VS. ISIDORE NEWMAN
The Dunham Tigers battle the Isidore Newman Greenies in the Louisiana Division III quarterfinals. The 7 p.m. Friday kickoff features plenty of star power, but all eyes will be on Greenies freshman quarterback Arch Manning. And if that name sounds familiar, it’s because it does. Manning is the nephew of quarterback legends Peyton and Eli Manning. Watch the game Friday, November 22nd on YurView Louisiana (Cox Ch. 4) and streaming on yurview.com.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
QB ARCH MANNING 6-0/170 FRESHMAN – NEWMAN
Arch is next in line in the legendary Manning quarterback family.
For some, it might next impossible to live up to the expectations that are placed on you when your grandfather is Archie Manning and Peyton and Eli are your uncles, but Arch hasn’t wilted under the spotlight.
He’s led Newman to a 9-1 record, and in his first game as a varsity starter, he completed 24 of 34 passes with three touchdowns. Then in his second start, he accounted for five scores. Later in October – with Peyton watching in the stands – Arch threw five touchdown passes and ran for a 5-yard score.
In an interview with the Indianapolis Star, Archie Manning said Arch is “probably a little ahead of” where Peyton and Eli were when they were freshmen. “(Arch is) playing good, he’s on a good team, they’re having a lot of success and having a lot of fun, and that’s the way it should be,” Archie Manning said in the interview. “That’s the one thing I always told my kids and I’ll tell Arch the day before a game. ‘Go have fun.'” Arch will soon have four or even five stars next to his name and will surely be one of the most heavily courted players in the 2023 class. But Arch is also different from other talented players. He doesn’t do social media. He’s not talking to college recruiters and the media is definitely a no-no at this early stage.
LB/DE BRANDON WILLIAMS 6-3/220 SENIOR – NEWMAN
Williams is ranked by most recruiting services as one of the top 10-players in the Bayou State, and the ranking is definitely worthy. Recruiters love how Williams always is near the football, and he’s just as good supporting the run as he is in pass coverage situations. Some college coaches believe he will eventually grow into a defensive end. Williams had offers from nearly 20 schools, including Florida, Arkansas, Colorado and Miami, but he committed in mid-September to Virginia.
After an incredible Official Visit, I am blessed to be able to commit to The University of Virginia!! #GoHoos pic.twitter.com/wd22KgY2Wt

QB ANTHONY SAFFORD 6-0/175 SENIOR – DUNHAM
The Tigers mixed it up at quarterback early on, but Safford has been key during Dunham’s district and playoff run. Safford had a big performance in the final district game against Baton Rouge Capitol, causing damage through the air and on the ground. In that game, he connected on a 44-yard touchdown pass and a 55-yard long bomb to Joshua Hardy. Safford’s dual-threat ability is generating plenty of interest from FCS, Ivy League and Group of 5 programs.
Truly Blessed and excited to EARN an offer from @CitadelFootball HUGE thanks to coach Conte @LouConte1 and to my trainer @xfactorQB. #hardworkpaysoff pic.twitter.com/5FBbbYCjFO
