Forwards Emmanuelle Tahane and Marie-Paule Foppossi combined for 48 points as Rhode Island snapped a three-game skid by thumping Hartford, 84-49, Wednesday evening.
The Rams (8-3) never trailed in the contest. Rhode Island scored the first six points of the night, as Foppossi and Tahane made layups on the first two possessions before Tahane hit a pair of free throws. Hartford (0-9) never got closer than three points the rest of the way.

From there, Rhode Island missed its next 16 shots, including 10 from 3-point range. Despite going cold, the Rams never lost their lead. Hartford cut it to three on an Abby Streeter 3-pointer that made it 16-13. Rhody then went on a 19-4 run to go up by double-digits. The lead got to as many as 18 points and Rhody took a 37-23 lead into the break.
