The Rhode Island Rams punched their first ticket to the NCAA Tournament since 1999 by winning the Atlantic 10 Championship on Sunday. Creighton is coming off a strong showing in the Big East Tournament, where they lost to Villanova in that conference’s Championship game.
Creighton has been a different team since losing point guard Mo Watson in January, but their strong Madison Square Garden run had to give them some confidence. Meanwhile the Rams haven’t lost in a month…seriously. Their physicality with Hassan Martin and scoring punch of E.C. Matthews and Jared Terrell have them playing their best basketball at the most critical time of year.
