The URI Rams women’s basketball team used a 9-0 4th quarter run to put away George Mason 59-49 and move to 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play.
After a long pause for Covid-19 protocols and an away game in their A-10 opener, Rhody has now won 14 straight games at the Ryan Center, dating back to last season.
“Just to be home again and play in front of our fans, it felt good,” said URI Coach Tammi Reiss after her team improved to 12-3.
Starting for the second consecutive game, Dolly Cairns led the Rams with 19 points, opening the game 3 for 3 on 3-pt field goals.
Emmanuelle Tahane added 15 for Rhode Island, and Dez Elmore chipped in 10 for URI, who next play on Monday at Home vs Massachusetts at 6pm on Yurview.
