Expectations were high for the Arizona Wildcats entering the NCAA Tournament, with many observers expecting them to make a Final Four run despite their youth. Although they came up short in losing to a talented Xavier team in the Sweet 16, Sean Miller is still one of the nation’s brightest coaches.
“People forget where this team was at the beginning of this season…and this was supposed to be a ‘down year’,” said Adam Finkelstein on Episode 3 of Dash to the Desert, noting the fact that the Wildcats were dealt a blow when five-star recruit Terrance Ferguson chose to play professionally in Australia. “The fact that they got to the position they were in, won the Pac-12, won the Pac-12 Tournament, I think that speaks to just how good Sean Miller really is.”

Answering the question posed to him by host Vin Parise, Finkelstein continued, “So is he the best to have never gotten to a Final Four, probably, because he’s one of the best in the country overall.”
