It may be offseason for the NCAA and NFL, but it’s prime time for the hard-hitting excitement of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The Tucson Sugar Skulls return for their 3rd season of play and fans can watch eight home games live on YurView.
The Sugar Skulls 16 game regular season schedule began March 27th and goes through July. The IFL playoffs are scheduled to begin in late July. All home games take place at the Tucson Arena.

Sugar Skulls Season Outlook
The Sugar Skulls finished last season with a 6-8 record and won five of their last seven games. Coach Dixie Wooten takes a revamped roster into this season building on the momentum from last year. The team looks to return to the playoffs for the second time in three seasons.
Key Returning Starters
Mike Jones (RB) – Returning for his third season with the Sugar Skulls. Jones is the all-time leading rusher in franchise history with 1,072 yards. Last season, Jones started all 14 games for Tucson, leading the team with 27 touchdowns (22 rushing/5 receiving). Jones has also caught 65 passes in his IFL career accumulating 571 yards and nine touchdowns.

Daquan Neal (QB) – Neal is a dual-threat quarterback that ran for 16 touchdowns while throwing 29 touchdown passes last season for the Iowa Barnstormers. His 16 touchdowns on the ground ranked third among all quarterbacks in the IFL, while his 29 through the air ranked fourth in the league.
Connor Taylor (LB) – Taylor joins the Sugar Skulls for his first season. He played for two years at Snow College where he was named National Junior College Association (NJCAA) Defensive Player of the Year before playing at Louisiana Tech.
Isame Faciane (OL) – Faciane returns to the Sugar Skulls for his second season. Known by the nickname “Ice,” he made his debut in the season opener vs. Iowa and registered the first sack of 2021.
Quinton Pedroza (WR) – Pedroza joins the Sugar Skulls for his first season and second in the IFL. He spent 2019 with the Quad City Steamwheelers as the leading receiver on the #1 passing offense in the league (194.9 yards per game).
