YurView has gone through ten of the most popular NBA Mock Drafts from around the web (as of June 15), averaging out each prospect’s projected slot, or in a few cases, slotting a prospect if there was a general consensus across multiple mock’s. With that disclaimer, we bring you the YurView First Round Mock Draft ahead of the 2017 NBA Draft on June 22. Check back for the top 20 picks.
30. Utah Jazz – Jordan Bell, PF
Bell takes the final first round (and guaranteed money) spot after being projected as high as #23 by USA Today. While three of the mock drafts didn’t have him listed as a first-rounder, you could do worse than grabbing tenacious defender and rebounder, even if he is undersized for a power forward. As many fans discovered during Oregon’s Final Four run in the NCAA Tournament, that’s exactly what the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year is.
29. San Antonio Spurs – Tyler Lydon, SF
The New York product followed a path to the NBA Draft that every high school and AAU coach would want all their players to follow. He worked on his game relentlessly at New Hampton Prep to gain a scholarship offer from his dream school. At Syracuse, he played in a Final Four and worked his way into the discussion as a first-round pick. As he told YurView in 2015, he modeled his game after Chandler Parsons.
28. Los Angeles Lakers – Semi Ojeleye, SF
As the “positionless basketball” craze continues, Ojeleye’s versatility makes him an intriguing prospect for the Lakers to take with their second pick. As many as five mock drafts have him falling out of the first round, while NBC Sports has him as high as #21.
27. Brooklyn Nets – Isaiah Hartenstein, C
Virtually all of the mocks have the big German lefty going in the first round (8 of the 10), and why not? There just aren’t that many seven foot nineteen year olds in the world, and the potential those physical traits bring are just to attractive to continually get passed on. The Ringer has him going the highest, at #24.
26. Portland Trail Blazers – Jawun Evans, PG
Evans is an interesting case, as most of the other true point guards are slotted in the Top 10. The Oklahoma State product may benefit by being the best on the board after the initial run at his position. While Bleacher Report and NBADraft.net have him at #21, four of the remaining mocks have him falling to the second round.
25. Orlando Magic – D.J. Wilson, PF
While Sports Illustrated has him the highest at #21 and two mock drafts leave him out of the first round altogether, Wilson is expected to be drafted in the mid-twenties by the other seven mocks.
24. Utah Jazz – Anzejs Pasecniks, C
The Latvian Center would certainly give the Jazz a formidable Twin Towers presence along side Rudy Gobert, although Fox Sports is the only outlet that is actually projecting that scenario. He’s solidly in the twenties unless some General Manager reaches on the belief that he’s the second coming of country-mate Kristaps Porzingis.
23. Toronto Raptors – Bam Adebayo, C
Another interesting high-upside Center prospect, DraftExpress has him going in the teens while Chad Ford at ESPN projects him at #20. Overall, he’s considered a late teens to mid-twenties prospect, while two of the mocks have GM’s ignoring his physical traits until Round 2.
22. Brooklyn Nets – Terrance Ferguson, SG
With shooting at a premium, every mock draft has Ferguson pegged as a first-rounder. CBS Sports has the knock-down shooter, who skipped college basketball to play in Australia, going the highest at #18.
21. Oklahoma City Thunder – Ike Anigbogu, C
Another prospect with a wide-range of projections, Anigbogu is going anywhere from 17 to 27 in the mock drafts we looked at. He’ll be the third UCLA freshman to get drafted in the first round after more heralded teammates Lonzo Ball and T.J. Leaf.
