Bellagio Conservatory Harvest
Bellagio Conservatory Harvest

The Bellagio Conservatory’s fall display, Harvest, is open 24/7 and can be viewed now through November 9th for free.  While the Conservatory looks and smells like fall, the weather here in Vegas still feels like summer. The average daily temperature in October is in the mid-80s, with nightly lows taking a dramatic swing into the 50s. This is perfect outdoor weather, especially if you’re looking to take advantage of the hiking trails and outdoor areas; however, keep in mind that October weather can be unpredictable and all over the place, so keep a close eye on the forecast and definitely pack accordingly. The seasonal pools begin closing in October, depending on the weather, so if you’re hoping to squeeze in one last Vegas pool day, be sure to check with the property you’re staying at for more information.

F1 construction begins on Strip

In most cities, October is the time of year for leaves changing color and pumpkin spice. Here in Vegas, it’s time to prepare for Formula 1. The Las Vegas Strip is already undergoing preparation for the event, (which takes place in November), with track lighting being set up just off of Las Vegas Blvd and lane closures on Las Vegas Blvd, in front of Bellagio. The trees, which are in pots, are being removed and the track lighting and grandstands for the event will be going up. This means that the sidewalk in front of the Bellagio Fountains is closed. If you’re looking to catch the Bellagio Fountain shows, you can view them from across the street at Paris and Planet Hollywood, the bridge connecting Bellagio to Cosmopolitan or the bridge connecting Bellagio to the Grand Bazaar Shops.

Bottled Blonde construction

Speaking of the Grand Bazaar Shops, the Bottled Blonde construction has really taken off and is set to open in 2025. Next door at Paris, the exterior of the Versailles Tower, as well as the bridge connecting Paris to the Versailles Tower inside of Horseshoe is complete.

Tropicana

We can’t talk construction without mentioning the Tropicana, which closed its doors last April.

Tropicana

The property is scheduled to be imploded at 2:30 am on October 9th. This event has caused an increase in room rates and there are even viewing parties. For instance, The Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay is hosting an implosion party that has sold out. This is the site of the future MLB ballpark for the A’s.

Halloween Fremont Street

Of course, Halloween is a big event here and takes place over several days. The largest celebration can be found on the Fremont Street Experience, which is held over several days, in addition to actual Halloween night and it gets crowded!

Alter Igor Fremont St Experience

There are tons of bar crawls, as well as costume contests at various clubs throughout the Vegas Valley. Halloween is a really fun time to visit Vegas and we always get asked if people dress up. Some do, some don’t and honestly, some you can’t tell if it’s a Halloween costume or not, because after all it is Vegas.

Of course, these are just the special events that are happening and all of the regular Vegas shows are still happening. There are so many smaller shows happening in Vegas that definitely should be added to your list. We recently enjoyed two shows that have been in Vegas for Decades, Marriage Can Be Murder and Purple Reign. Both shows were also featured on our television show, Ninth Island Connection, that airs across all Cox Cable markets on YurView nationwide.

Marriage Can Be Murder

Marriage Can Be Murder is a comedy murder mystery dinner theater show that pulls the crowd into the interactive show. Creators and stars of the show, Eric and Jayne Post, keep the audience engaged and laughing, while trying to figure out “whodunit.” Marriage Can Be Murder is located at The Orleans, just off the Strip. For more information, visit their website www.marriagecanbemurder.com

Purple Reigm, courtesy of Jason Tenner

Purple Reign is a must for music lovers, especially those who enjoy music icon, Prince. Jason Tenner created and stars in this award-winning show that takes place at the V Theater inside of the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. With the live performance of classic hits from Prince, as well as Morris Day and The Time, audience members can’t help but dance and sing along. For more information visit www.purplereign.net

As always, be sure to stay up to date on any event that you plan on attending, as events get cancelled as well as added daily in Vegas. Also, check into the policies of both the performer and the venue, if you plan on attending an event, as many venues and artists have restrictions on what is allowed inside. For the most up-to-date information on Las Vegas, be sure to tune into our weekly lives on our Ninth Island Connection YouTube Chanel. We go live on Wednesdays between noon and 1pm PST and bring you an update on what to expect that upcoming weekend.

Whether you’re a Las Vegas Local, or just visiting the Ninth Island, be sure to get out and explore this beautiful state! For more information on each of these destinations, check out this video, or tune into Ninth Island Connection on YouTube or YurView (Channel 14) Wednesdays @ 9 PM.
