North Carolina is undoubtedly one of the premiere college basketball programs in the country, and they just beat another blue-blood (Kentucky) to complete their Dash to the Desert.
Their reward? A hungry Oregon team who will be making their first appearance in the Final Four since they won the championship in 1939. In fact, UNC has been two more Final Fours in the last two seasons than the other three teams combined. Both Gonzaga and South Carolina are making their first trips.

With this in mind, former Tar Heel Scott Williams discusses what this week leading up to Saturday’s National Semifinal for Roy Williams and his veteran team will be like. Coming off a season in which they were beat for a title at the buzzer, many UNC players will draw from that experience one year later.
“Realize there is still a bigger task that has to be accomplished when they get on that plane and start coming to the desert here in Phoenix,” says the former Tar Heel on an OT segment of Dash to the Desert Episode 3. “I think they’ll handle that pressure really well because they have a lot of guys on that team who have already gone through it just a season ago.”
