Another Oklahoma blue chip high school football player made his college commitment known this week when Booker T. Washington’s Micah Tease announced he’ll play for the University of Arkansas.
Tease, the number three player in Oklahoma according to Prep Redzone Oklahoma, chose the Razorbacks over several high-profile programs, including Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, USC and Texas A&M.
Tease spoke with YurView’s Deion Imade earlier this summer about the recruiting process and divulged a few of the things he was looking for in a school.
Playbooks and schemes and what best fits me,” said Tease, who narrowed his 25-plus offers to 10 schools earlier this year. “And coaches. Do I have a genuine bond with the coaches or is just a transactional relationship?”
A four-star athlete, Tease reminds many of former Booker T. Washington athlete Dax Hill, who also excelled on both sides of the ball for the Hornets. Hill just completed a successful college career as a defensive back at Michigan and was drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
“It doesn’t matter,” stated Tease on his preference of playing offense or defense in college. “Put me wherever you want. I just want to be on the field.”
“I’ve been playing receiver since the sixth grade and I’ve only been playing corner since I was a freshman,” added Tease. “I’m still developing there. I’ll play wherever the university I choose puts me.”
Tease helped lead the Hornets to an 8-3 season last year and a berth in the 6A-II playoffs. The 6-0, 180-pounder had 31 catches for 618 yards and 9 touchdowns as a receiver. On defense, the playmaker added three interceptions.
Two of the top 2023 three players in Oklahoma have now pledged to play for the Razorbacks next season. Joining Tease in Fayetteville will be Bixby four-star tight end Luke Hasz. Luke’s brother, Dylan, also recently committed to Arkansas.
