La. Tech opened the season with a sweep of Wichita State over the weekend. The Bulldogs received an outstanding outing from Conference USA Pitcher of the Week Kyle Crigger. The senior picked up a win and a save in the series with the Shockers.

LSU outscored Maine 51-15 in Baton Rouge over the weekend to open the season undefeated. Infielder Cade Doughty picked up Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors after torching the Bears with a .571 batting average and two home runs. New head coach Jay Johnson picked up his first wins as Tiger skipper.
