Our furry friends are incredibly important to all of us here at Living 757! The gang is joined by Ric Browde, the President and CEO of Wings of Rescue.
Wings of Rescue flies at risk shelter pets, from disaster areas and overcrowded shelters, to safe havens where no local shelter pets are displaced by their flights. Ric and his crew are there to save the day after hurricanes, tornadoes, fires and other natural disasters occur.
After Hurricane Ida ravaged Louisiana, Wings of Rescue rescued around 80 animals and brought them to Virginia! They get the pets out of harms way and into loving homes and shelters who have room for the pets.

The benefit of flying the pets versus other modes of transportation, is that flying is so much quicker! After a hurricane, for instance, the devastation makes a usually not so bad drive, take days longer than normal. The shorter travel time also means less stress on the pets, and also less disease once the displaced pets make it to the new shelters.
