How to watch Walker vs Denham Springs
Nowhere to go but Up
Both teams have struggled this season. Walker head coach Chad Mahaffey’s first season was a good one as the Wildcats had a solid first season, going 8-4 and beating Thibodaux 63-21 in the first round of the playoffs.
The Wildcats come into the game with a 1-5 record. After opening the season with a 61-7 loss to St. Thomas More, the Wildcats defeated Broadmoor 68-0. Since then, they lost to Scotlandville (54-15), Live Oak (26-10) and Central (35-28).
Last week against a good Central team (6-1, 3-1), Walker led 21-17 at the half but the offense struggled in the second half, and the Wildcats could only muster three first downs after halftime.

Brett Beard is in his first season as head coach of Denham Springs. Beard previously coached at Woodlawn and Live Oak.
The Yellowjackets have yet to win a game this season. They are 0-6 and 0-3 in 5A District 4 play. They’ve lost to St. Amant (35-13), Assumption (35-10), Westgate (43-7), Central (30-22), Zachary (44-14), and last week to Live Oak (38-31).
The loss to Live Oak was especially heartbreaking. With just a few seconds left in the game, the Yellowjackets attempted a 30-yard field goal for the win. Instead, Live Oak blocked the kick and ran it back for a touchdown to get the dramatic 38-31 victory.
