The Bellevue West Thunderbirds overpowered the Millard West Wildcats in Friday’s Class A matchup, scoring a 42-7 home victory.
Bellevue West quarterback Luke Johansson had his best game to date with 5 touchdown passes on the night. He threw for 10 of 17 and 258 yards, often throwing in traffic and placing the ball so that his receivers could get open.

Millard West had opportunities, but the T-Birds capitalized on any mistake. Such as the Nate Pederson 65-yard run that ended in a turnover on downs. The Wildcats have also been fighting through injuries this season, losing their starting QB Jacob Jones to a combination torn ACL and meniscus.

Iowa commit Keagan Johnson would catch the first touchdown pass from Johannsen, but TE Micah Riley and running back L.J. Richardson took over scoring from there.

Will Ekborg and James Conway were the Wildcats playmakers who prevented a shutout when Ekborg blocked a Bellevue West punt and Conway fell on it to score.
In "The best kept secret," Staff Reporter Carson Fox reports on @MillardWestFB senior linebacker James Conway @Jamesconway_13, known not just for his play on the field, but his humility off it. https://t.co/1zQSpiFACI
