Union and Jenks met at Allan Trimble Stadium in Jenks for the first time since 1998. The Backyard Bowl has a history of thrills and chills and last second comebacks but Friday night’s game brought a Jenks win over Union with a final score of 28-0.
The Trojans first score came after a punt fumble by Union ended in a Jenks possession. While the score was a nice throw from Stephen Kittleman to Jayden Patrick for 27 yards and a touchdown, the real story of the night was Jenks’ ability to shut down Union at every opportunity.
Jayden Patrick Strikes Again . . . and Again
In the second quarter, Jenks extended their lead when Kittleman dropped the ball over his shoulder and right into the waiting arms of Waylon Adams. That 22 yard touchdown put the Trojans up 14-0.
If I was looking for a 6’4” 245Lbs TIGHT END with a 30 ACT. I would go ahead and give my guy @_WaylonAdams a call. You can thank me later. #Stud #JenksTrojans #SteertheShip pic.twitter.com/Kw2uEb5AVF

They followed that piece of trickeration with a pitch from Kittleman to Jayden Patrick, who threw to a wide open Ty Walls for 23 yards and the score.

Late in the second quarter, it was Patrick again. This time he picked off off a Rovaughn Banks pass in the end zone to end Union’s best scoring opportunity of the night.

The Trojans led 21-0 at halftime, but they weren’t finished. Their final score was a rushing touchdown by Grant Lohr from four yards out.
Not to be outdone, the Trojan defense never let up: Union’s Arkansas commit A.J. Green managed only 52 yards on 13 difficult carries.
Jenks wins the 2020 MidFirst Bank Backyard Bowl 28-0. The Trojans move up to 2-1 on the night. Union falls to 0-3.
