Watch a full game replay of Cumberland vs. Cranston East (Rhode Island) high school football.
Cranston East came into tonight’s game still looking for that elusive first win while Cumberland wanted to break out of the middle of the pack in Rhode Island’s Division 1-A standings.
Cumberland took control early in the game as their standout quarterback #3 Dante Aviles-Santos scampered off left tackle for the 37 yard first quarter score making it 7-0.
Later in the quarter, it was Santos on 4th and 8 to the air as he connected with Shane Meerbott for the 28 yard rainbow giving Cumberland the early 14-0 lead.
In the 3rd quarter on another 4th down strike, Santos found Jack Proctor over the middle for the 25 yard toss to open up a commanding 21-0 lead.
Cranston East would avoid the shutout finding the end zone on the last play of the game, but too little too late as Cumberland would improve to 3-3 in the standings. Cranston East drops to 0-7.
