Powered by 164 yards rushing and three touchdowns by Montrell Johnson, De La Salle eased to a 24-6 win against West Florida.
De La Salle improves to 3-3. West Florida drops to 1-7.
De La Salle led 14-6 at halftime. Coming out of the break, De La Salle orchestrated a 14-play, 62-yard field goal drive that chewed up nine minutes of play.
“We pulled through tonight. The drive in the second half was a tone-setter,” Johnson said to NOLA.com. “It gave us a lot of confidence, and we were able to put this one away.”
