A pair of 4-1 Arizona 6A conference teams, Red Mountain and Basha, will square off this Friday night. Both programs seem poised to earn playoff berths, but the winner of this matchup will be in prime position to earn a top seed in the 6A playoff bracket.
The game will be broadcast live on Yurview Arizona for customers of Cox Communications and will also stream live on Yurview.com.
That’s Called a Winning Streak
Red Mountain and Basha experienced opposite 2017 seasons, but the two programs have won a lot of their most recent games. Red Mountain lost its first two contests last season then won its next 10 before falling in the 6A semifinals.
With its 4-1 start, Red Mountain has won 14 of its last 16 games.
Basha isn’t quite that hot, but after starting 1-6 a year ago, Basha has won six of its last nine. Following a 4-0 start, Basha suffered its first loss to Highland last week. They are in search of their first winning season since 2014.
Last year, Red Mountain beat Basha, 27-21. Red Mountain also defeated Basha in 2016. Those two meetings are the only recent matchups in the series.
