Yurview will be broadcasting another Louisiana high school 5A football playoff matchup this week, as the John Ehret Patriots take on the Zachary Broncos. John Ehret is 7-3 and is the #13 seed, while the #4 seed Broncos are 8-2 on the year. The game can be seen at 6:30pm CT on Friday November 17th on Yurview Louisiana and will also be streaming live on Yurview.com.
How They Got Here
Zachary dominated Mandeville 38-0 last week, relying on their stout defense once again to lead the way. They forced a fumble and recovered on Mandeville’s first play from scrimmage, and they were on their way to a 24-0 halftime lead.

John Ehret also controlled the game in their first round win, getting a complete team victory. They only allowed 13 points in the contest, while that was the same amount the Patriots offense put on the scoreboard in the first quarter. In all it was a 46-13 win for the Patriots against Haughton to advance.
Defense tops Offense?
Zachary has the top defense in 5A, and they’ve only allowed more than one score in 3 games all season. The victory over Mandeville was the third shutout in four games for the Broncos, and they’ve only given up 13 points total in their last five games. Talk about dominant. Oh, and they have a sweet turnover chain.

John Ehret isn’t too shabby on defense either, but they’re offense has really been clicking over the last month. Since a shutout loss to Landry-Walker in mid-October, the Patriots are averaging 53.5 points per game over their last four contests. They can move the ball on the ground with RB Terrell Brown or through the air with QB Travis Mumphrey, making them an interesting opponent for the vaunted Zachary defense.
